The PTA Network acts as a bridge between the School, the PTA and the wider parent community. The PTA Network typically consists of two Class Parent Representatives (“Class Reps”) from each homeroom class/house. The PTA Network normally meets monthly to share news and information, raise questions and issues arising from their respective classes, and encourage community building within their classes. They send out regular PTA updates to remind parents of upcoming School events and PTA activities. In many ways, the PTA Network is the foundation of the PTA. WhatsApp and email are the main communication channels for the PTA Network outside of meetings.
Attend morning meetings, typically 8:15-9:00am (once a month).
Obtain contact information of homeroom parents and set up class WhatsApp chat group at the beginning of the school year.
Send out regular updates and reminders by WhatsApp to parents in the homeroom class.
Act as the first day-to-day contact point for queries from class parents.
Organize gatherings to build community amongst the homeroom class.
Liaise with homeroom teachers via email and/or physical meetings regarding class-wide issues or events.
